Went to see him last night and here's what he thinks about your lost tribes question. He says he doesn't know if it's correct, but it's what he thinks: There are actually 12 tribes and only 10 are lost. According to most of our blessings we belong to the tribe of Ephraim and they along with the tribe of Manasseh came to the Americans through Lehi. So they and we aren't lost.
He suggests that maybe Liz could ask her dad since he's a patriarch. Dad thinks it would be interesting to hear his take on things.
Dad has also gotten a another calling. He is now a home teacher along with being the organist in priesthood meeting. So far, he's not too impressed with his partner. But I'm sure he'll "whip" him into shape!

My father agrees with dad's answer.
However, he knows that many of us are gentiles and have been adopted into the tribes stated in our patriarchal blessings. He has given blessings to some from other tribes (NOT LOST) i.e.,
Judah (2)
Naphalia (1)
He was in a meeting where there was a patriarch from Africa that had given many black people blessings and they belonged to the tribe of Judah. (back Jews)
He feels there is not a concrete answer, other than he agrees with dad on the 12 tribes and 10 tribes being lost.
Asking him will prompt study and more discussion with him. I will post when he tells me. He has to have his gall bladder removed and we find out when on Tuesday (1).

The whole thing was prompted by Branden's blessing, he doesn't get a solid answer in his blessing as to what tribe he belongs to. He is told the group of scriptures that he should search to find out.
